Description

FUSE is seeking both adult and student volunteers to work with children with disabilities in our adaptive swim program.  The adaptive swim program is geared toward non-swimmers and beginning swimmers who need to continue to build swimming skills to become independent in the water.  Each swimmer is assisted in the water by a one-on-one volunteer.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to work with children ages 5 to 15 in the water. Volunteers must be ages 15 or older. No previous experience is required. Volunteers must have basic swimming skills and are required to sign a waiver.

The program will begin with an orientation for new volunteers on Sunday, September 24, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Circle of Care (312 E.  Main St., Greenfield). First for swimmers is Sunday, October 11 and the program runs weekly through November 22. Volunteers will need to arrive at 10:30 am.  Swimmers and volunteers will be in the pool 11 am-12 pm.

We ask that if you volunteer, that you can commit to at least 5 of the 8 Sundays.  If you cannot make this commitment, we would love to have you sign up as a substitute on weeks where we have a need.

*Please make sure that you select ALL Sundays that you are available.
